E-DETECT presented at Romanian Parliament

Representatives from our project met with politicians in Bucharest to discuss next steps for tuberculosis screening among high risk groups in Romania.

Partners from the Marius Nasta Institute, KNCV and UCL joined over 100 stakeholders including representatives from the Ministry of Health and Presidential Administration, MPs, NGOs and members of the civil society community, doctors and journalists for a landmark meeting on 9th October.

E-DETECT TB has been screening thousands of people in hard-to-reach communities around Southern Romania since the launch of our customised mobile x-ray unit last year.  The success of this approach has led to Romania’s government investing a further €15 million in similar units to travel around the country.
