Public Health England (PHE) is an executive agency of the Department of Health providing strategic leadership, research, advice and support for Government, local authorities and the NHS in protecting and improving the nation’s health.

The E-DETECT TB Team

The National TB section in Public Health England, has been leading the development and implementation of the Collaborative TB Strategy for England 2015-20. The section also leads on national TB surveillance, pre-entry screening for active TB and the new national latent TB screening and treatment programme for new migrants in England.

The multi-agency project team in PHE includes public health doctors, infectious disease epidemiologists, analysts and researchers and works closely with UCL and other academic partners to translate lessons learned from our own domestic strategy and screening programmes together with other collected evidence across Europe to inform policy and recommendations across Europe.
